We've been making work together for over 15 years. Our work is performed nationally & internationally, receiving 4 & 5 star reviews and winning both national & international theatre awards including:
2 Fringe Firsts, Sydney Fringe Best Theatre, Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre and an OffWestEnd Theatre Award.
We make politically-engaged live documentary with songs, comedy and multimedia.
3 of our shows have been published by Oberon Press/Bloomsbury where we have also co-authored 'Writing Queer Performance'
and we feature/have featured on the syllabus of Kings College London, Central School of Speech and Drama,
Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Chichester.
Our work is informed by our trained disciplines of music, performance art and long-form improvisation. We consider performing the ‘sh!t’ to be theatrically political. Our embracing of the ‘sh!t’ challenges preconceptions that, in life, only virtuosity needs a voice. We work with a D.I.Y aesthetic which comprises of found materials; the intentionally D.I.Y appearance and donning of grotesque clown make-up challenges us and the audience to find the common ground beyond the alienating exterior. Our work is political and personal, using comedy, music, multimedia, audience interaction and live documentary practice.
Our work celebrates ‘live-ness’ – lines are learnt and then un-learnt, sections are left to be devised on stage, pieces re-written in response to the specific audience. We love improvisation, cracks in the facepaint, failure and being SH!T.
